Undergraduate Students
Rising Yale sophomore working with various 3D scanning and model acquisition pipelines. Also assisting with a cultural heritage project that aims to reconstruct new-looking models of weathered monuments and works of art in Spain.
I am also currently writing a short guide to 3D scanning that will help introduce the subject for interested individuals unfamiliar with the field.
Leah is a rising second year at The University of Chicago. She is currently working on using Visual Structure from Motion Software (VisualSFM) to more accurately model the textures and surfaces of architectural materials.
Rising sophomore at Spelman College researching the challenges associated with rendering large datasets of architectural material. Methods include photographing architecture, constructing highly detailed polygonal 3D models, and editing each model to simulate texture and improve its photorealism.
Gabe Smedresman was an undergraduate student here. You can visit him at his current website.
I graduated from Yale in 2012 with a B.A. in history. In the summers of 2012 and 2013 I worked under Drs. Holly Rushmeier and Min H. Kim to help develop the Hyper3D software for visualizing various types of image data, including hyperspectral images, 3D models, and 3D CT medical images, with special attention to the interests and needs of art conservators.
