Nadia Zikiou is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Yale Institute of Biospheric Studies and the Department of Computer Science at Yale University. Her research focuses on the intersection of remote sensing, image analysis, and environmental science, with a particular emphasis on developing innovative methods for Earth observation and environmental monitoring. She has expertise in the compression and classification of hyperspectral images using advanced techniques like sparse representation and spectral graph transforms.

In addition to her work on hyperspectral images, she is committed to applying remote sensing to support biodiversity monitoring, habitat assessment, and wildlife conservation, including camera trap data analysis for animal identification. Her research extends to fire severity analysis in forest ecosystems, leveraging machine learning and spatial analysis to assess environmental risks and enhance wildfire management.

She holds a Ph.D. in Electronics, specializing in remote sensing, from Mouloud Maameri University in Algeria, with a collaboration at the XLIM laboratory in France. She also holds a Magister in Electronics and an Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering and Electronics.
