We are again organizing the Eurographics Material Appearance Modeling Workship (MAM2016). The workshohp will be colocated with EGSR2016 in Dublin, Ireland June 22. The Graphics Group will have two papers at SIGGRAPH 2016 — Multi-Scale Label-Map Extraction for Texture Synthesis and Tactile Mesh Saliency. SIGGRAPH will be held July 24-28, 2016 in Anaheim California. We will also have a paper at the ACM Symposium on Applied Perception, held just before the main SIGGRAPH conference.
We are organizing the third annual Material Appearance Modeling workshop June 2015 in Darmstadt.

The graphics group has had papers accepted at three upcoming conferences – Pacific Graphics in Singapore, SIGGRAPH Asia in Hong Kong and DIgital Heritage in Marseille. In addition, video from our SIGGRAPH Asia paper (with first author recent alumnus Hongzhi Wu) has been selected for the conference trailer.
The Graphics Group has released a new online tool which allows users to extract textures from unconstrained Images. The tool, which is available on the new graphics service site, allows a user to upload photos, and provides a simple wizard to guide them in the extraction process. A step by step tutorial is also available.
For the second year in a row, the Yale Graphics Group is helping organize a workshop on material appearance. This year it will be held the day before the Eurographics Rendering Symposium June 25 in Lyon France. For details on how to participate see:
