We are a computer graphics group based in Yale's Computer Science Department. At Yale we are immersed in a unique environment with world-class faculties in the visual arts and sciences, including Art, Architecture, Art History, Drama, Psychology and Medicine. We have access to rich resources in the collections of the university's libraries and museums. The Yale campus itself and the surrounding Connecticut Shoreline provide us with visual inspiration and challenges.

  1. New interactive online tool for texture extraction

The Graphics Group has released a new online tool which allows users to extract textures from unconstrained Images. The tool, which is available on the new graphics service site, allows a user to upload photos, and provides a simple wizard to guide them in the extraction process. A step by step tutorial is also available. The tool is based on the work described in Yale Computer Science Technical Report 1483.

  2. Papers accepted at Pacific Graphics 2013, SIGGRAPH Asia 2013 and Digital Heritage 2013

The graphics group has had papers accepted at three upcoming conferences -- Pacific Graphics in Singapore, SIGGRAPH Asia in Hong Kong and DIgital Heritage in Marseille. In addition, video from our SIGGRAPH Asia paper (with first author recent alumnus Hongzhi Wu) has been selected for the conference trailer.

  3. Holly Rushmeier has been honored with the 2013 Computer Graphics Achievement Award from SIGGRAPH.
